How to explain God’s love

The strength of God’s love is difficult to explain. God’s love for us comes from the fact that God IS love. That is His nature. Even though God is also righteous and requires judgment for our sins, because of His innate love for all of His creation, He had to provide a way for the penalties of our sins to be paid for, so He could make us once again, righteous before Him. The only “way” that would satisfy His righteousness and judgment was if He, Himself, paid for the penalties of our sins. The sacrifice had to be a perfect sacrifice. No one with sin could satisfy God. So, He sent a part of Himself, His Son, Jesus, to earth to be that perfect sacrifice for us. But, in order for us to receive forgiveness through Jesus, we must humble ourselves, admit we are sinners in need of God’s forgiveness, repent of our sins and, by faith, put our trust in Jesus’ shed blood and death on the cross and His resurrection to conquer spiritual death. We must believe that Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as well as the Creator of all things. Jesus IS God and God IS love!
